Lecturer/Researcher Cell Technologies - Focus Computational Bioanalysis / Omicstechnology

YOUR TASKS
- Subject-related teaching in Bachelor's and Master's degree programs (mainly in English) including preparation and follow-up
- Supervision of scientific papers, student-projects and practical laboratory courses
- Collaboration in the expansion, support and maintenance of laboratory infrastructure as well as instructing new employees in the use of the equipment
- Development of teaching/learning materials for face-to-face and distance learning (videos, tutorials, exercises, digitalizing materials and exam questions etc.)
- Carrying out research and development activities (e.g. in the City of Vienna project Sequence Tissue) and transfer of research results into teaching
- (Further) development of content and didactics for educational products (seminars, training courses, etc.)
- Providing support at events of the department (e.g. school workshops, open days, etc.)
YOUR PROFILE
- Completed, relevant university education (at least Master's level)
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in the following areas
o DNA-Sequencing (preferably using Nanopore™ System)
o Analysis of multi-omics data (genomics, proteomics, metanolomics,
transcriptomics) and their application to answer biological research
questions
- Ideally experience in academic teaching and in the creation of e-Learning materials
- Hands-on mentality and enjoyment of supporting students in the laboratory
- Careful and independent way of working, team spirit and a high degree of initiative and reliability
- Very good knowledge of English
