For girls belonging to rural or semi-urban peripheries of Udaipur district, the reality can be starkly different from those living in the urban center. In the nearby tribal and rural pockets, challenges like early marriage, discontinued education after puberty due to safety or infrastructural issues, and limited economic opportunities are still prevalent. However, various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government initiatives based in Udaipur are working tirelessly to change this. Rural girls are increasingly being trained in vocational skills, self-defense, and digital literacy, slowly bridging the gap between the urban and rural female experience in the region.
