Master Thesis "Robust Single- and Multi-Target Tracking enhanced by Target Pose Information" Vollzeit

We are Austria's largest Research and Technology Organisation and an international player in the research areas that we cover. This makes us a leading development partner for industry and a top employer in the scientific community. Our Center for Vision, Automation and Control in Vienna invites applications for a:

Master Thesis "Robust Single- and Multi-Target Tracking enhanced by Target Pose Information"

IMAGINE

  • Autonomous systems comprise a complex set of various technological components including tracking of all kinds objects.
  • Tracking of objects in street scenarios, mobile platforms approaching other targets or loading/unloading of cargo into a loading bay needs to be reliable.

ENGAGE

  • You will explore novel combinations of machine learning and data association for robust tracking.
  • You will implement pose-assisted data association & tracking for various tracking tasks (planar and spatially extended objects represented by 2D and 3D bounding boxes, respectively).

ACHIEVE

  • You will Improve the tracking methodology for reliable tracking which is robust with respect to dense, occluding targets and clutter.
  • You will train and evaluate the algorithm on toy and real datasets.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner*:

  • Enrolled as a master student in computer science, software engineering, information and computer engineering, mathematics or similar
  • Interest in machine learning, object representation and tracking
  • Experience in Python.

What to expect:

At least € 719,51 gross for 20 hours/week based on the collective agreement (Forschungs‐KV). The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience. There will be additional company benefits! As a research institution, we are familiar with the supervision and execution of master theses and we are looking forward to accompanying you accordingly.
